Plan C (or maybe back to plan A)

After fussing with my oddball chamber for way too long, and pricing out what dies, reamers etc. might cost, I decided to buy a replacement barrel (actually bought two - this is getting addictive - I have now spent exactly twice what the gun cost on parts!!).
I currently have about a gazillion .429 44/40 bulletss for my Henry and 1875 Rem revolver. Some are pure lead and most are about BHN 10.
I bought some of Buffalo Arms' 47mm cases so I could have lots of trim room.  I also got the LEE die set.
Several questions come to mind:
  • Do the short 210 grain 44/40 bullets shoot well in these things?  LEE has a 430-310 mould available if I need to go to a longer bullet.
  • I am assuming that I want to use soft lead in this - Yes?
  • I have a limited number of slow and slow-ish powders, as well as Goex 3F and 2F.  My smokeless options currently are Win 540 (too fast?); H110; 4227; 3031; and 4064 - any...
